With two and a half years' supply of Virginia tobacco stored away, tne British Government decided today that imports of American tobacco should be stopped for an indefinite period of time.
Virginia tobacco) moreover, will not be used alone but will be mixed with 10 to 15 per cent. of Turkish Or Greek tobacco, it was learned.
Economic Warfare Minister Ronald Cross, speaking in.the House of Commons, indicated this today when he stated that imports of Turkish tobacco soon will be made in the form of interest on the British loan to Ankara.
This tobacco, he added, certainly will be purchased immediately upon arrival. The import of Greek tobacco, too, is awaited in the near future.—Havas.
