EASTER A Vision of the British Isles

From aery steeple, through seronest atr, O'er heights spring-flowered, as the morning breaks, Comes early song while Christendom awakes To her great festival with cadenced prayer!

Men from all creeds commingle here and there, Old age its way to pious worship makes And thence, with youth, ite inspiration takes.

None grieve, none tarry, none with fear or care!

Mid countless lights that round the altars shine Are voices raised in cloistered hall or shrine Beseeching Him who for mankind had risen To guide the hand that for His cause hath striven!

Hear ye the cry that sweeps the embattled plain?

"For God and Britain" is the proud refrain!
