The subscribers to the American Episcopal Hospital in Hongkew will be glad to hear that that institution is Tapidly extending its sphere of usefulness. A building amply sufficient for its present needs has just been Completed. Not less than 500 persons applied for aid on Monday last. In View of the want of more medical aid. Drs. Jamieson and Henderson have kindly offered their services as attending surgeons. Hitherto, nearly all the work has devolved on a native assistant, Dr. Macgowan being able only to act as consulting surgeon, a post which he continues to hold. Under the care of these three medical officers, the hospital will no doubt become yet more useful. Messrs, Llewellyn & Ca. have just presented "the institution with an excellent set of amputating instruments.
