Archbishop Asks Prayers For Peace

Special Whitsuntide Appeal To Be Made London, May 17.

Signed by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the heads of other churches in Europe, a call to prayer during Whitsuntide for international peace has been issued by Lambeth Palace.

It says that the world is at present dominated by fear, mainly owing to the use or threat of force in international policy, and urges Christian people of every nation to pray to God to guide ihe hearts and minds of all peoples and their rulers, so that justice, goodwill and peace may be established throughout the world.

The signatories add that they are glad to think that their call may be associated with the Pope's appeal to promote a crusade of prayer for peace.—Reuter.
