Will to Resist Cannot Be Destroyed

Chungking, May 17.

"Japanese aircraft may kill thousands of less fortunate ones, but they can not destroy our will to resist" declared General Chiang Kai-shek, in message to the nation.

"Granted the Japanese have 2,000 aeroplanes, but they will mot be able to destroy the 2,000 county seats and the 90,000,000 villages in China," he continued.

Once more expressing confidence in China's ultimate victory, he declared that Japan's "inhuman acts" would only strengthen Chinese unity for resistance and vengeance.—Reuter.
