Well Received in Moscow

Moscow, June 1.

British, French, and Polish diplom atic circles here greeted favourably the statement made here yesterday by Foreign Commissar Viacheslav Molotov.

These quarters consider that the principal points are the question of the remilitarization of the Aaland Islands and the warning to Japan that the violation of the frontier between Soviet Russia and Outer Mongolia must cease.

On the other hand, M. Molotov asserted that soviet Russia has her place in the front of peace-loving nations struggling against aggression, and therefore the negotiations with the democracies will be continued, but Paris and London must take into consideration the Russian demands, give Moscow unconditional aid in the event of a direct aggression and extend their guarantee to the Baltic states.

Little. importance is attached to the possibility of the resumption of commercial negotiations between Berlin and Moscow.—Havas.
