Troops Moved

New York, Aug. 21 According to the New York "Times" correspondent in Greece, the Greek Government transferred troops from the north to the Albanian frontier where Italian troops. were similarly reported to have been massed.

At one time it seemed that Germany might offer to mediate between Italy and Greece. Germany's sudden change of attitude was believed to have been due to the offer by Turkey of military aid to Greece should she be attacked.

It was noteworthy that behind the Turkish offer was a Soviet assurance of support, significant of Moscow's activities in the Balkans.

Meanwhile British diplomatic activity was indicated by the long conference last night between the Greek Premier, General Jon Metaxas and the British Minister, Sir Charles Palairet.

The New York "Times" reported that British warships, some ten in number, have already arrived at the island of Mykamo in the Aegean Sea.—Domei.
