The town and district of Narvik, now under Allied occupation, is today fitted with bomb craters and presents a scene of devastation following intensive German aerial bombardments, the Norwegian Legation here announced today, quoting a telegram from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

Fourteen German bombers two days ago flew over the Narvik area and for two solid hours rained down missiles, many of which were parently aimed at the hospital clearly marked with a huge red cross.

People in the Narvik area were machine-gunned mercilessly by the German planes and, as a result of the vicious bombing, six thousand residents today were without shelter, ihe Norwegian Legation statement concluded.

According to the Stockholm "Dagens Nyheter," 30 German bombers dropped approximately 700 incendiary and explosive bombs on the town of Bodoe, chief city in Nordland province, completely destroying the town.—Havas*
