Considerable Action

Paris, Oct. 11.

Strong German patrols were repulsed again during last night south of Saarbruecken and south of Pirmasens, the official General Staff communique revealed this morning.

The semi-official comment released with the communique states that German activities during the past days aims at gathering information on the French advanced positions and on the intentions of the French General Staff. Several unsuccessful attempts were made to take prisoners with this object.

Yesterday, along a front of 160 kilometres German patrols each consisting of about ten men repeatedly tried io observe the French positions. Some came as near as the French barbed wire entanglements and fought with hand-grenades, but they never succeeded in forcing their way through, being beaten back each time with losses.—Havas.
