Germans Claim Eight Ships

Berlin, Feb 10.

German raids on British shipping off the north-east coast of England yesterday resulted in the sinking of eight ships totalling 15,000 tons, the German High Command said in a communique issued last night. One German plane failed to return from the renewed offensive against British shipping, the communique said. The ships sunk by the German planes, the communique said, were either British or sailing in British convoys. Among those sunk were two outpost vessels which kept on the lookout for German planes, the communique said.—United Press.
