N.C.D.N. Photographs Shanghai experienced its heavy lest fall of snow for many years on Feb. 1 and 2. People awoke to find buildings, trees and roads covered by a white mantle three inches thick with snow still falling. Frost on the night of February 2 formed icicles on trees and buildings and made the going rather difficult and in some places dangerous. The younger generation welcomed the fall and snow fights were so well recognized that some schools broke up a quarter of an hour earlier than usual in order that they could be indulged in. In addition there was toboganning in some parts and plenty of sliding. Jessfield Park was well worth a visit as these photographs show.
