Mr. Sumner Welles, United States Under-Secretary of State, last night met Mr, Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty.
Earlier in the day he had luncheon with Sir John Simon, Chancellor of the Exchequer, at 11 Downing Street, after which he had a short talk with Sir Alexander Cadogan, Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
Today Mr. Welles will see Mr. Anthony Eden, the Dominion's Secretary. Also, at Mr, Welles's request, he will have a conversation with Mr.
