Minister, yesterday re-established contact with M. Pierre Laval in Paris, offering him the Vichy compromise plan, but as far as could be learned today the ousted statesman remains adamant that he be given the promic; ship of the Vichy Government the right to name his own Cabinet.
Admiral Darlan was instructed to offer the compromise plan of Marshal Philippe Petain, Premier, agreeing to reinstate M. Laval as Vice-Premier, With Admiral Darlan assuming the para and Marshal Petain re-alning only the title of Chief of State. #-United Press.
