Hankow, Apr. 19.
The likelihood of Kuling being: reopened as a summer resort this year is rather remote as a result of many difficulties brought. about by the Sino-Japanese hostilities, according io a foreigner who has just completed: an inspection of conditions on The Hill.
The war, he says, has thrown all the normal wheels out of gear.
'There is first of all the question of transport to Kúling, across the plain' and up-the: hill; with military necessity making fist: claim on ships, cars and coolies. Only a few chairs have been left by the Chinese.
One of the biggest obstacles; however, this foreigner states, is. the question of- supplies for visitors, as the whole countryside is dislocated by the hostilities. Food, fuel, labour, repairs and a hundred and one every day necessities - come. under -this heading.
