British Draw First Blood

The British drew first blood when, ten minutes after the start of the game, Betty Gray snapped up the ball within the circle to beat Beraha with a hard drive. This was the only point scored in the first half. Palestine's equalizing point came a few minutes after the resumption of the game. P. Medovoy broke through the British defence and, with the assistance of Fra Gershevitch, carried the ball into the circle to beat Mrs, Weston, From then on it was Britain's game as the entire strength of the British were seen in the Jewish portion of the ground, attacking consistently. Though Palestine managed to break through two or three times their aggressions were disorganized and therefore easily dealt with. Jean Wheeler scored the next two goals in almost identical style, scoring both from a scrimmage in the goal mouth, Joan Picozzi's point was the best of the match as she flicked the ball in mid-air into the circle to follow it up and drive it hard past Beraha.

The teams were:—
