Communists Disapprove Roosevelt. Speech

Chungking, May 29.

President Roosevelt's broadcast was splashed in all Chinese pape-s some of which even published extra editions yesterday afternoon—a rare oe.

All carried leading articles this morning' undnimousiy welcoming President Roosevelt's firm determina. tion to support the Democracies in their struggle against aggression, the only dissenting note being struck by the Chinese Communist parly organ, "Sin "Hua Jin Pao," which saw in the broadcast 1, The United States hereatter paying major attention to the Battle of the Atlantic and probably slighting the Pacific situation, since "President Roosevelt made no reference to Japan and did not attack her," and 2, Rigorous suppression of labour strikes and democratic rights in the United States—Reuter.
