Ricketts Extended at Hungjao

May 27. GTONY" Ricketts, the City's golf champion, was again extended in his march to the final round of the Hungjao Golf Club championship'on Saturday. After his hard match against Hines in the quarter-final, Ricketts was expected to. coast into the final against Pettitt, but the latter gave the champion even a worst shaking up than Hines did.

Tt was only by Pettitt pulling his second out-of-bounds at the 17th and fluting his second at the 18th that Ricketts was able to finish all square, after being in the unenviable position of 2 down against a player with a reputation for steady and unrufied play.

The golf throughout the round lroor and Ricketts did not show the high standard to which enthusiasts ave been accustomed. He was somewhat handicapped by sweaty hands jand slippery grips and when playing hile tee shots at the 13th and "14th holes. it appeared og though the club hed slipped in his fands, for both shots were badly pushed out and after hacking about inthe foliage for sometime. the champion gave up both hides. his opponent being hole high in both instances with lovely tec shots. Ricketts out in 38 against Pettitt: 43..was one up at the turn
