Charged with violating measurement, regulations, Sheng SI prietor of the Tung Fu Rice Shop at 295 North Kiangse Road was sentenced to five months' imprisonment in the First Special District Court, Accused recently gave much less rice than a customer ought to have been given. He used a wrong measurement which he said had been bought unknowingly. His lawyer asked the judge to grant bail pending the filing of sri appeal against the sentence but the judge refused.
Chen Wen-bin, proprietor of the Sheng. Yuen Rice Shop et 79 North Haihing Road is facing a similar chaga in the court. He was represented at yesterday's hearing by a shap-assistant but Judge Tseng post-patied-the hearing and required Chen to appear at the next hearing. He ruled that if Chen failed to appeari he would be arrested.
