Acting on information received during the investigation of the murder of police watchman 516, who was Yen o care nomi a DAS shot by three robbers on November 10 of last year, detectives from the French police arrested the murderers in Nantao on Tuesday night.
The watchman. it may be recalled, was on duty at Lane 16 in Rue Pere Froe when he was assaulted by three men, robbed of his pistol and shot in the thigh as he resisted. He died the next day.
With the Chinese police co-operate ing detectives raided a Chinese dwelling in (Nantao on Tuesday and arrested two of the gang. Both were found in possession of pistols, one of which was fully loaded.
Questioned by the detectives, the arrested men betrayed their accomplice, the one who had actually shot the watchman, The criminal was apprehended at his home in Route Conty. The three arrested robbers were said to have committed numerous crimes in the French Concession.
