River Potice officers continued to drag the Whangpoo River late last night in an attempt to find the body of John Paul Tansky, 23-year old member qf an American President Lines vessel, who fell into the river about 7 pin. on Monday. Up to a late hour last night, no trace of the man was reported.
"Tansky fell into the Whangpoo River together with another seaman, Thomas LaHart, when they were returning to their steamer on board the Marie Moller.
An alarm was immediately raised end LeHort was rescued by a Chi-mese seaman on board the tender, but before helo could be given to Tanskv. he disappeared in the wake of the boat, it was reported. The missing +feaman is a native of Pennsylvania and was on his first trip to China.
