Entries for the men's singles and men's doubles are still some time off. but judging from indications to date last year's results should be repeated. Carson enters upon his eighth s lof local tennis supremacy and though the tireless V. T. Wang playing as good a game as ever, does not seem likely that champion will be upset—not unless. of course, he has a drastic relapse of form.
Of the Chinese players in Shanghai only V. T. Wang. Kho Sin-kuei. the younger brother of Kho Sin-kie. Harry Li and T. C. Chang are in the first-class category. Gordon Lum and Tony Liang have returned to Tien-difficulty in winning the league. but it appears as if the activities of local Chinese tennis stars will have to be confined to the championships.
