HONG KONG — Hong Kong sits on the eastern side of the Pearl River Delta, with Macau across the estuary to the west and Shenzhen immediately to the north.
The city is divided into 18 districts across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, including the outlying islands. About 7.5 million people live there, according to the Census and Statistics Department.
