A year ago there were only four not rs for the Lincolnshire Handicap, but the weight ha pot proved 0 satisfactory this ven candidates have been withdrawn. mong the missing is Lischanaand some' prominent French entrants have also been taken out; though the French-bred and English-owned Eider stands his ground. If the Lincoln acceptances fre somewhat disappointing those for the Kempton Park Jubilee are just the opposite. Only three of the original thirty-seven nominated have been drawn, which is very flattering to committee of handicappers.respo ble for the weights. the list, aod all being well this race ought to be one of the most interesting handicaps of the year. The acceptors for the Grand National Steeplechase only number fifty oat of seventy-one entered. This dows not compare with 1907, when only ten were withdrawa from an entry f sixty-five. Still, most of those in are genuine candidates and there reason to anticipate a smaller feld than usual. The top weight has been allowed t6 stay and only Drumeree and Red Lad of the very noted brigade are among the non-acceptors. In another week it will no doubt be possible to say something regarding the candidates supported for the earlier events. In the meantime sportsmen who fancy a long shot might do worse than have " small investment on Barabbas LI for the Grand National.
