The development of the cotton industry in China has of late received, much attention from Mr. Chou Tsz-chi the Minister of Agriculture and Commerce, who has delegated a number of experts to make investigations into the conditions of the various cotton producing districts. According to the latest report from the Ministry, the cotton growing districts in the Honan and Shantung provinces extend to more than 16,400,000 mow while, in the provinces of Szechuan, Kuangtung, Kuangsi, Hupeh, and Chekiang, the areas aggregate 11,100,000 mow.
