Alex Boisserie, former Shanghai Recreation Club star inside forward, led an all-Manila XI to a convincing victory here last evening against the formidable Islington Corinthians, who were beaten by three goals to nil This was the first defeat of ihe tourists since their arrival in the Far East.
Besides being. the coach of the local team, Boisserie was the most "conspicuous player on the field and scored Manila's third goal.
Another local player who covered himself with glory, was the goalkeeper, who was repeatedly applauded for his daring and dazzling saves, The attacks of the Corinthians, "who played their usual brilliant game, all ended at the goal mouth. Somehow the tourists found it impossible to put the ball past the keeper.
