A meeting of all local teachers was held in the Ecole Remi recently, in which the question of helping Russian youths in Shanghai to receive higher education was discussed. It was decided to form a special society, whose work would include the gathering together of all those graduating from middle schools here. The plan was met favourably by M. Charles Grosbois, Inspector of the Educational Department of the French Concession, Taking part in the discussion were the Principals and Staffs of the Commercial School, the First Russian School and the Girls' School of the Russian Women's League. The organization of this society will be carried out by a special committee, in which Rev, M, Rogojin, Prof. N. P. Pokrovsky and Mr, N. P. Malinovsky, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the First Russian School will participate. It was further decided io assist in the equipping of two láboratories—one for physics and the other for chemistry—which would be open for the use of not only the pupils of middle schools but for those of the Technical Institute as well.
The equipping of these laboratories was put into the hands of Mr. I, N. Satronoff and Mr, P. P. Sapojnikoft.
