Authorities in Canton to-day continued their extraordinary precautions, which, they claimed, were taken to ward off the imminent Japanese landing on the coast.
One effect of the tension in the City of Rams was the complete suspension of hitherto heavy shipments of arms and munitions from Hongkong to Canton.
Kwangtung is at present garrisoned by six divisions and four independent brigades of Kwangtung troops and by two divisions and one independent brigade of Kwangsi forces, Kwangsi troops are stationed in Semshui Pakhoi, Hoppo, Liuchow, Nanying and Shiuchow.—Domei.
