Tokyo, July 18, A ban on the admission of women visitors to dance-halls is the latest measure introduced by the Tokyo police as part of their contribution to the "spiritual mobilization" of the people.
Men visitors to dance-halls are now required to register their name, occupation and age, a practice formerly confined to the yoshiawara. Music, the police have also ordered, must not be played in cafes, bars and restaurant after 11 p.m., and the closing hour, midnight, must be strictly observed.
