Naggiar then went to the French Concession Waterworks, where he made a tour of inspection with M. Courthial, general manager of the Company, and M. Ladroitte, engineer. having congratulated. the and staff of these two c cerns, the ambassador paid a visit to the Little Sisters of the Poor, to whom he expressed his great satisfaction at the admirable work accomplished by them.
Before returning to Shanghai, M. Naggiar was received on board the gunboat Doudart de Lagree, where he was accorded full naval honours by Commander Buscail.
