Unanimous Approval

The decisions taken at the Sixth National Kuomintang Congress here sre hailed with unanimous approval to-day.

zue Chinese Communist organ "Hsin Hua Jih Pao" joins the Chinese Army newspaper "Sao Tahg Pao and the Kuomintang organ "Wuhan Jih Pao" in declaring that the Congress decisions mark a new epoch in China's "renaissance."

The decisions of the Congress, splashed over the front pages of the newspapers to-day, to the exclusion of the war news, have come as quite a surprise to many of the inhabitants of Hankow, who did not even know that the Congress was taking place here. It was kept as close a secret as possible, apparently with a view to preventing the Japanese from realizing the important meeting was taking place and so save the city from visitation by Japanese aeroplanes, No reports of its meetings were allowed to be sent out of Hankow and by way of a "blind" reports were circulated thet the Congress was meeting at Chungking instead of at Hankow. It appears that this strategy was eminently successful, The Congress sat for three days, being attended by 500 delegates from all parts of the country, and during this whole period no Japanese raids were made on the city. ing the march past the saluting base the Specials' band played military airs.
