Recently there was formed the National Agricul Research Bureau at Nanking (as a branch of the Ministry of Industry) with a large staff of workers trained in various branches of agricultural science and provided with suitable buildings and an extensive experimental farm. Dr. Wishart will lecture in Nanking during the next four months by arrangement with the National "Agricultural Research Bureau—the head of which is Mr. Chien—on that branch of agricultural science to which he has made such important contributions. He will no doubt visit other centres of agricultural work while in China and hie visit should be of considerable value.
For some years past Nanking agricultural circles have had the benefit of Dr. Love's guidance and no doubt to some extent Dr. Wis-art's work will follow up the valuable pioneer work of Dr. Love fon biological statistics. Among the students attending the course of Jectures will be the heads of the principal experiment stations throughout China, Few things can be of as much importance in China as the investigation of her agricultural problems by sound agricultural methods designed to give the most reliable information about the various factors involved.
