Mr. ¥. Suma, Japanese Consul General in Nanking, called on Mr. Wang Ching-wei, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
Mr. Suma stated that under instructions from the Tokyo Foreign Nanking, June 13.
The authorities concerned have Issued the following communtaua regarding the search for and final discovery to-day of the missing Japanese Vice-Consul, Mr. E. Kuramoto:—Immediately following the report by the Japanese Consulate General at 9 am. on Saturday, June 9, of the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Kuramoto, an intensive search was begun by the Nanking police and gendarmerie authorities. "Beginning with the mixed residential quarters of the city and extending later to the various places usually frequented by foreigners, the search was carried on for several days without any tangible result. The field was then enlarged to include the suburbs of the capital city covering the districts along the Yangtze River and the highways leading out from Nanking.
The various police units in the surrounding areas were supplied with instructions to look for persons who appeared to be suspicious in appear= nee, who are ignorant of the Jocal Glalects, whose facial features in~ ficate strange characteristics, and who betray signs of mental derangement, Finally, large rewards were offered with the view of effecting speedy discovery.
