Mr. Mei Lan-fang. famous Chinese actor, who had been here to perform, in order to raise funds to relieve the famine stricken people in the pro-Vince, returned to Shanghai on July 5. According to the local famine relief authorities, about $400,000 was raised through Mr. Mei's performance, but more than $300,000 had been spent already. What famine-stricken people bet wilt be less than $3,000.
