To Visit Australia Aircraft Manufacture in Dominion Contemplated

British Air Mission

London, Dec. 30.

"A special mission composed of senior officers and officials of the Air Ministry will shortly sail for Australia to discuss plans for manufacturing the latest types of British military aircraft in Australian fac-the "Daily Telegraph" announced.

"Here once again the wide dispersal of the Empire's members has proved to be not weakness but strength," the paper added. "It becomes possible for us to establish the production of essential engines of war beyond the range of any enemy attack by air. The aircraft factories to be erected in Australia will serve a triple strategic end. Firstly, they will secure the provision with necessary speed and in necessary quantities for aircraft needed by the Commonwealth for its own defence; secondly, they will thus relieve the Imperial industry of the task of supplying Australia's needs; thirdly, the Empire's bases in Singapore, Malta, and others farther East will be able to draw on the aircraft supplied by Australia instead of from this country.

"There will be this further technical advantage," the paper concluded, "the standardization of types in the Empire's air forces, greatly facilitate ing supply in time of war."—Havas.
