Berlin, May 8.

Hopes to break the axis, the journal adds, will prove to be in vain.

Foreign quarters are asking whether. the Pact may attract other friends of the Axis, such as Spain, Japan and (Hungary, to join a military Anti-Comintern Pact.

Poland, and also the Western Powers, have been given time to re-fleet, comments the "Frankfurter Zeitung" "We can only hope that they have made use of it." Stating that Herr Hitler's proposals regarding the Polish problem "received Italy's full approval" the newspaper adds that Italy, does not consider that they contradict the decisive Polish demand—which is not disputed by Germany—that she should not be dispossessed of free access to the Baltic.—Reuter.
