Tokyo, Sept, 15. "Describing the Chinese appeal to the League of Nations as "merely one of the usual Chinese moves" a Japanese Army spokesman yesterday _scorned Nanking's statement to Geneva as nothing but a "concoction of falsehoods."
At the time of the Manchurian Incident, the spokesman pointed out, the world witnessed similar tactics by China, and coming at the present time, Nanking's move is mot worthy of surprise or comment, Chinese allegations that the Japanese forces, during the attack on Nankow, used poison gas, was flatly denied by the spokesman. The arrest of foreign missionaries at Peiping was also disclaimed by the Spokesman, as were the Chinese charges that the Japanese fired in-@iscriminately on non-combatants, The Chinese, he continued, are merely attempting to shift the "blame that should fall on themselves, upon the shoulders of the Japanese, The spokesman concluded by reasserting that there was no need to feel concern over the Chinese appeal to the League.
