Sm—In reply to ENGLISHEWOMAN'S letter in your to-day's issue, I beg to state that the sugar which she purchased at $1.70 per bag of 10 lbs is the so-called "Duty free Sugar" which is packed locally under as. sumed names. If ENGLISHWOMAN will take the trouble to look into a few small Chinese shops on Avenue Joffre and Rue Lafayette, she will find the exact sugar sold at $1.20 per 30 lbs. (without bags). The sugar in question is imported from Dairen.
