In an article wired to the "Komsomolskaya Pravda," the well-known American Arctic explorer, Mr. Hubert Wilkins, writes: "Together with the rest of the world, we are anxiously awaiting news on the dispatch of ships to the Arctic to remove M. Papanin's party from the ice floe. The icefloe and location of the camp were very carefully chosen by Prof, Otto Schmidt who personally supervised the foundation of this scientific base which is unique in the world, "The scientific work of M. Papanin's group-magnetic, hydrobiological and meteorological reports, also the exceptionally fine analysis of the Polar weather—all these, I believe are the most Important achievements in comparison with all the polar expeditions organized until now. We greet the conclusion of the work of M. Papanin's eminent group as a stop forward in the conquest of the Arctic and the discovery of its secrets for the direct aid to the man.—
