Fifteen Chinese houses were gutted, and one was very badly damaged, in a fire which broke out shortly after 630 p.m. yesterday south of Lane 390 Chemulpo Road. A machine from Yangtszepoo Station spent nearly three hours fighting the outbreak. It is not known how the fire was caused, A second outbreak occurred at 8.20, affecting a group of six Chinese houses at the corner of Broadway East and Muirhead Roads, and again Yangtszepoo responded with one machine. Two machines from Hongkew Station were summoned to a third fire which broke out in a block of dwellings at the corner of Ward and Dalny Roads at 850 pin.
