December 31
London, Jan. 23.
The question of whether any information had been received regarding the increase of Japanese armed forces along the borders of Hongkong, the reports of Japanese planes landing adjacent to British territory, and whether any protests had been laid before the Japanese authorities was asked today in the House of Commons by the Labour M.P., Mr. Price.
The reply given was that "all Japanese troops were withdrawn from the border between Hongkong and Kwangtung last December 31 Furthermore, Lord Halifax has received no reports on the landing of Japanese planes on British territory."
