In Rear Salesroom—Now On View

To-day, Friday, February 18, 1938, at 9.30 a.m.

Wooden trunks, gas stoves, tables, chairs, stools, tea poys, double spring couch, ice chest, iron bedsteads, dressing tables, chest of drawers, suit cases, hat boxes, tennis and badminton rackets, golf clubs, table clocks, pictures, books, electric saucepans, heaters, garden umbrella, lamp shades, crockery, glass ware, gramophone records, gent's and ladies clothing, ladies' fur coats and sundries etc. moment.

In regard to the receipts during 1937 I would point out that out of the $20,000, $7,000 was received as a result of the Gipsy Ball and the appeal which was made at that time and $3,000 came from the British Fund for Relief in China. Therefore even in ordinary times we are only able to rely on half our revenue coming from regular sources whereas the other half is to be raised by balls, entertainments or special appeals, At the present time it is even difficult to collect what we call our regular income because many of our regular subscribers have left town or are unable to maintain their subscriptions.

We are therefore specially grateful to those Shanghai residents who are coming to our assistance at the present time and organizing enter-lainments for the benefit of the Orphanage and also to you for the kind publicity which you have always so generously given.
