Under-Rating Britain Will Be Mistake

London, July 16.

Hope that the tragic mistake" of 1914, in under-rating Great Britain and her fighting capacities, would not be repeated, was' expressed by Lord Chatfield, Minister for the Co-Ordination of Defence, in a speech at an ex-servicemen's rally at Cambridge today. The world, he said, "is watching us, wondering if we are the same England, with the same unconquerable spirit. It may be reassured. The young men now coming in are exactly what we should wish, and if put to the test will perform exactly the same deeds that England has the past.

"The world has too often under-rated the British race and its Oghting capacities." It did so 25 years ago. Let us hope, for its sake and for humanity generally, that it will not make the same mistake again."—Reuter.
