Baseball League will be severely tested today as they are to meet the First Battalion for the first time this season. The Headquarters have won all their three games so far while the First Battalion have dropped one in as many starts.
In their two encounters against the Amateurs the Headquarters nine were rather fortunate to come through on both occasions by a single run's difference while It. Blais' team bowed in defeat to the civilians, 8-7, in 2 disputed eight inning tally which eventually decided the issue.
Headquarters seemed to have an edge in batting power, having four or five heavy sluggers in Hyman, Varconi, Girard, Sonnenberg and Wells. In battery the Fist appeared stronger, possessing two stellar moundsmen in Lefty Orzech and Lindsay.
Play will commence at 3.30 p.m. and an sorbing contest is promised.
