The Finnish Olympic Gan

Committee has received an official invitation to organize the Games in Finland in 1940.

—Reuter.

Brussels, July 19.

At his Government's roques the Japanese Ambassador here, Mr. Saburo Kurusu, sent a letter today to Count Baillet-Latour, Chairman of the International Olympic Federation, in which he stated that Japan renounced the organization of the 1940 Olympic Games in Tokyo but hoped to be able to hold them in 1944.

He would therefore be grateful if the Count would under-lake the necessary demarches to this end.—Havas.
