Sofia, Oct. 12.
Germany's rapid efforts to dominate Central Europe and the Balkans will be carried a stage further with the arrival here tomorrow of the German Minister of Economics, Herr Walther Funk, on a three-day visit following his successful negotiations with Yugoslavia and Turkey.
The visit comes at an opportune moment, when Bulgaria is developing new markets, and is expected to result in an agreement on future supplies on terms favourable to Germany.
Herr Funk's arrival will coincide with the opening of a German-organized "Strength Through Joy" exhibition, which is widely regarded as a new attempt by Germany to strengthen her political and economic relations with Bulgaria, hitherto somewhat weakened by the support given to Bulgaria by Britain and France.
The latter have the advantage of being markets with free currencies, but Germany forms a natural market for Bulgaria and other Balkan countries, which, on their part, would be an inexhaustible source of supply for Germany in wartime.
