No Invitation to King To Visit America Possibility Not Ruled Out

In London

London, Oct. 12.

No invitation has been received for the King and Queen to visit the United States after their Canadian tour next year, it is authoritatively stated today.

Their Majesties are returning to London from Balmoral in the early part of next week, and nothing. definite on the subject of their North American trip is expected before then.

The idea that there may be a visit to the United States, however, is not ruled out in Court circles, where it is thought that a visit to Washington and the New York World Fair may be arranged.

If the President of the United States took the opportunity of inviting Their Majesties to Washington, it is stated that the normal channel, namely, the British Embassy in Washington, would be used.

Speaking at a press conference in Washington yesterday, Mrs. Roosevelt seid she would be most pleased if the British sovereigns were to visit the United States.

She had not the "faintest notion," she added, of what she should do if the King and Queen proceeded to Washington, but remarked: "I would be told. by the State Department exactly what to do, and I will do exactly what I am told."—Reuter.
