Police Court—cause jo great deal of laughter and came ig for some good-humoured leg pulling after the Court rose yesterday morning; the money-lender was fined for being drunk and disorderly The two Vir Singh and Mehar Singh, were arrested on Tuesday evening in Bubbling Well Road. as they were then behaving in a most drunken and disorderly manner. Both pleaded guilty and both were fined 10/-

No sooner had Mr. Morris left the court-room, however, then a brief chuckle came from first one corner of the room, and then another, and soon the back of the court, crowded with watchmen off duty, moneylenders in a moment of relaxation, and other minor members of the local Sikh community, was rocking with laughter.

One of the accused is the gentleman, often seen around the local hotels during the tourist season, who wears a white turban and carries a little black bag. "I tell you very od fortune," he says—but he forgot to consult himself, and so was out 10/- yesterday, just when the exchange is so bad, too.
