Tokyo, Jan. 21.
Japanese police seized Mr. James R. Young, International News Correspondent, at his Imperial Hotel apartment today and took him to headquarters for questioning. The reason for the Japanese action was not revealed.
Mr. Young informed the American Embassy of his predicament and a member of the Embassy staff accompanied him and the policemen to headquarters, The chief of police informed the Embassy official that the examination might not be completed today.
Mr. Young, who returned to Tokyo last month after a visit to Chungking, spent sume weeks in Shanghai where he is well known in journalistic circles United Press l AYETTE
