Congress for Industrial Organization, today announced that labour's Non-Partisan League would boycott any attempted third-party movements and continue to work within the framework of the Democratic Party—at least until the national Democratic convention in 1940.
Mr. Lewis said that the Non-
Partisan League would hold its National convention this summer and would then consider the question of whether or not it approved of Mr. Roosevelt's running for a third term. He said that the convention this summer would "authorize—the League's delegates to the Democratic National Convention to work for the nomination of progressive candidates for president and vice-president."
Mr. Lewis declined to answer questions as to what the League's possible action might be in the event that the Democrats nominated candidates which the League considered not progressive.
Mr. Lewis also announced that beginning January 1, 1939, the League's membership would be broadened to include "any American approving its tenets." Previously membership has been confined to members of organized labour groups.—United Press.
