Patrols Save City Area

London, Oct. 1. ft-moving and deadly firing British patrol planes hovered over London last night and early this morning with the result that central London had a comparatively peaceful time and the German at-Macks were confined to 27; widely separated areas in the outskirts, suburbs and eight home counties.

More groups of Nazi raiders seemed to be operating than usual in again trying out the new tactics of driving at London from all points of the compass at the same time as if they all had a rendezvous over the heart of the capital.

Raiders were reported to have heavily attacked a Mersey-side town with incendiary bombs which, however, did not cause damage. A Welsh coastal town and north-west, northeast and south-east England also were attacked—United Press.
